All Things Drug Store Makeup with a side of All Things Katie

LIFE UPDATE!! : Long time, no blogging for this girl right here which makes me so upset as I love What Would Katie - Did Do! My life has been a crazy whirlwind of all things work related and trying to keep my head on straight. To top off my crazy schedule I caught the crazy flu going around and was the sickest I have ever with a solid two week sick streak. So, with my insane work life and this plague I took some "me" time and went MIA...SORRY EVERYBODY! I plan on making this blog go from ehhh to WOWWW in the next couple of months so keep your eyes peeled. But, the thing is, I feel a lack of inspiration or lack of content... who wants to help me?! What would you guys want to see more of? Food? Clothes? Makeup? Travel Tips? HELP!!! Leave comments below as I would love to know which direction to go into first??!

I'm going to start with the LONG REQUESTED (and long overdue) All Things Drugstore Makeup products that I have been loving. I don't know if it is just me, but I have two different types of makeup days. First is the full glam, going out, Sephora makeup get up and then there is my toned down glam, errand/grocery store makeup look which I tend to lean more towards the drugstore brand makeup because lets be honest... you get two things at Sephora and you're LUCKY to walk out of there under $60 and with drugstore you can spend $60 and get your whole makeup look.

See Below List of All Things Drug Store Makeup!
Primer - Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer in Clear
I mentioned this primer is my Holy Grails Makeup & Skincare post a could months back (see post here >> http://www.whatwouldkatie-diddo.com/2017/10/holy-grails-makeup-skincare.html) and I am sticking to my guns. This primer is GOLD and I would compare it to or even say it is better than some of the high end primers I have tried in the past AND it is only $6.00. Elf is a funny brand though because I have found it at my local Fry's, Target and Walmart, but sometimes Walmart does not sell it so be careful. Target is always a safe bet.
Foundation - Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Foundation
GUYS... 99.9% of the time I reach for this foundation over my high end foundation. It is full coverage, it's matte with leaving you with a refreshed skin look and I'm in LOVE. Out of all the drug store items on this list I would highly recommend this as I am already almost through my second bottle. Ranges from $8.99 to $12.99 depending on sales and where you go!
Concealer - Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
This concealer is a breath of fresh air because I can't stand when I can feel how thick concealer is on my face. This is light and creamy with a build-able coverage. I would compare it to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer except this one is a tenth of the price ranging between $3.00 and $5.00.
Setting Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
This one is the one I was most hesitant to try because drugstore powders tend to clump up, give you flash back in pictures or just the consistency is no good, but turns out, this powder was a pleasant surprise!! I tried a shade to match my foundation and it worked out beautifully, but I still think I would recommend the transparent over the colored shade so that way you do not have to worry about color matching and the oxidization. Ranges from $3.99 to $5.99 and usually found at all places!
Bronzer - Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow
This bronzer is a golden piece of heaven. It has gold reflects and a nice light golden bronze tone. I usually use this to bronze the whole face and then add a little extra depth in the cheek bone for contour. This one ranges from $7.99 to $10.99. If your looking for a matte bronzer I highly recommend is the "WhatUp Beaches" Matte Bronzer by Elizabeth Mott. I only found it on Amazon other then the brands website and It is a little more pricey at $15.00 on Amazon.
Blush - Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose
This one I have been wanting for so long and finally caved to buy it when I was thinking of doing this post and now I know exactly why because I am in LOVE.  Personally, I am obsessed with all things Rose when it comes to blush as I think it flatters my skin tone best, but the consistency with Milani Blushes blows me away. It is creamy, blends well and has good color payoff. They range from $6.99 to $8.99. Another blush I would recommend is also from Milani and is the  Baked Powder Blush in Rose D'Oro and is a rose tone blush with gold reflects.
Highlight - Wet n' Wild Mega Glow Highlighting Powder
OH.MY.GLOW is an understatement.. This really is a Mega Glow highlighter and really get your punch for your buck and has been my go too over my higher end products lately. This highlighter is $5.00 and has so much pigment!!! If you don't like blinding... this one is not for you. Also, be careful with this one as it is one of those ones that if you drop it... it might not be able to be recovered... (see my picture for my mistake in dropping it)
Eyeshadow - There is two brands!!
Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad
Being the cheapest item on the list at a whopping $2.00 (could range depending on where you go) this was a surprising one for me. A shade for lid, transition, crease and brow bone with the a lot of color of payoff is amazing. I will say this had a little too much fall out, so I had to hit the extra product off, but it as still extremely good pigmentation!! For the price this is a steal.
Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow
With these eyeshadows there is a lot of product in the pan, but they are more on the pricey side at $6.00 to $7.00. I use the dark brown shade in Bella Bronze (my absolute favorite golden chocolate brown) to define my outer corner with a natural smokey eye and the color payoff is AMAZING! If you like bold bright colors I would recommend Bella Rouge is the perfect bright plum.
Eyebrows - I'M SORRY!!
I was not able to get a product for this one because 1. The one I usually use was sold out of three different places I tried to get it at... which is why it is probably my favorite and 2. I forgot to go try and check for a new one product after my hunt for the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara for $7.99. This my go to when I am rushing and need a quick brow (which is all the time) as lets face it... I hate brows.
Eyeliner - Maybelline!! Maybelline!! Maybelline!!
Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner and Maybelline Eye Studio Long Lasting Gel Liner (HOLY MOUTHFUL!)
I mentioned both of these in my Holy Grails Makeup & Skincare (listed above) and my Top Black Stale Pieces for Fall (For Blog Post >>http://www.whatwouldkatie-diddo.com/2017/11/top-10-black-staple-pieces-for-fall_16.html) and they are my tried and trues forever. I use the liquid liner for my eyelid or right at the lash line and then the gel liner for my water line with a eyeliner brush and it sticks like glue!! It's been a long lasting relationship with both of these and even though I have strayed in the past... I always end up going back to them!
Mascara - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes
This Mascara is BLACK!! The brush breaks apart lashes while still keeping them voluminous. This one was a newbie in the collection (as I always stick to higher end mascara... just because I love it!), but I am really happy I picked this gem up!! I got it on sale for $4.00, but it can range up to $9.99.
Liquid Lipstick - Wet n' Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick
Other than the foundation... this liquid lipstick is my FAVORITE of the list. This liquid lip is $5.00, has AMAZING color payoff and has the longevity of a higher end liquid lip, if not better. I put a sample of this on my hand when I first got it and washed the dishes and the color looked like it had not even been touched. I wanted to get the red... like always... but, went for plum instead. The red color in the collection.... is BEAUTIFUL, so if you are looking for a new red lip scoop this one up, or check out my Top 5 Red Lips.(For Blog Post >> http://www.whatwouldkatie-diddo.com/2017/12/top-5-red-lips-for-holidays.html)
Setting Spray - NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray
I had a girlfriend recommend this to me a couple months back when we went shopping and picked it up. I didn't use it for some time because I had my Mac Fix+, but when I ran out I did my research and saw the saddest yet funniest review I have ever seen on a product. The review was from a girl who was walking across the street to work and someone hit her with their car... She came back to tell the tale and said this setting spray was the best she had ever used because with everything that happened with her getting hit by a car her makeup stayed glued to her face. After that, I have been using it every day ever since. This setting spray really does keep everything in place and for the price it is definitely a score at $5.99 to $7.99.

I hope I was of some assistance because I KNOW it's not jus me when I go to buy drugstore makeup there is SO MUCH to chose from with so many brands that it can be overwhelming. If you ever have any questions please feel free to DM me!!

Until Next Time,

- Katie - Did
